Thank you, pottery lovers!

Piece from "Indigenous and Endangered" series featuring plants from California's central coast.

One of the coolest things about having an open studio/gallery is getting to visit with people who stop in to shop or just look around. I've met so many interesting people in the last year.

In hopes of maintaining the connection, I've been inviting folks to visit my blog and offering a few incentives. So, if you're new here to the blog, I hope you'll drop me a line. And please stop back in to see what's new in the studio!

Thank you again for your appreciation of craft hand-made in America and your support of this California artist in particular!

Hi Patricia, I like learning about marketing techniques of other artists, do you mind my asking what type of incentives are you offering visitors to your shop? I just love your new work and I can't wait to visit the coast, I notice our sky has more clouds than normal, perhaps an indication of an el nino year, more rain for California I hope.

Thanks everybody! Hey, everybody except that shameless Gary Rith! He's stealing my visitors! Slip slidin' away... Easy come, easy go!... Oh dang.

Hi Jim and Cindy! Thanks for the comments. I'm really trying to stick with this series for awhile and work on refinements. It's a challenge. I'm usually all over the place. Thanks for the encouragement.

Hi Linda - I made some magnets and offered freebies to those studio visitors who gave me their email addresses. Usually, I made the offer after they bought something or started a conversation about pottery, my work, etc. Most people liked the offer and were pleased to take home a magnet from the studio. It's an inexpensive way to share something handmade from the studio.

Hi Patricia, what a great idea, thanks so much. Check this link to Tony Clennel's blog where he tells how they offer a free gift to their local B&B guests to entice them to visit their pottery, another great marketing technique.

Boy you are on a roll, I like all your new stuff! It is refreshing to look at, I've been glued to my computer working on photo jobs for clients and my eyes needed something new to look at. This certainly did the trick. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all your new stuff!
