Snowing in Santa Fe

We head home tomorrow to sunny California, so today we have snow in Santa Fe! It's been coming down all day. We're not used to snow and it's been wildly exciting. I know, all you snow bunnies think we're just plain silly.

We are here as part of a home exchange and it's been really fun to live in the mountains outside of Santa Fe for a week. The owner of the house created handmade tile and installed it inside and out. There are totems, mosaic benches, tiled canals to the garden pond...

Here are a few more shots I took outside before the snow started falling...

I've lived in the snow before, but it's still magical when it comes down, enjoy.

For a potter to visit Santa Fe must be heavenly! I was married to a acomplished studio potter on the East Coast "a thousand years ago". I still wonder in awe when I come across a beautiful handcrafted ceramic vessel.

Hi Linda - The snow was incredible today before we left. I'll post some photos in my next post.

Hi UGodwin - I checked out JewettStreet.com. Nice site! We love home exchanging, although we're so eager to get back to our own home right now! Thanks for checking out my blog! Hope you come back!

Hey Ang - You bet! Am so eager to get home. I've spent a week looking at incredible art. I will be happily back in my own studio first thing tomorrow morning (after I give my dog a long walk and lots of hugs!)

Isn't it fun to see other art that's gets you inspired to get back to the studio and create?! Great pictures. I'd love to go to Santa Fe one of the Art Mecca's!

At this point if Alaskan's get any more snow in April or May we tend to get a little suicidal... just kidding. :o)

Great mosaic bench - very inspiring!

I happened upon 2 mosaic installations the other day on my way to the library. The parking lot was full and I had to park far away and decided to take a short cut through an alley - I was rewarded with 2 really cool mosaics - You reminded me that I need to bring my camera with me on Thursday (my daughter's and my library day).

What a fantastic house exchange!

I never heard of Home Exchange, what a great idea! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Nice shots of the mosaics. Although I've had enough snow for awhile, glad you were enchanted by it!
