Above photos are the results of the recent firing... The first round of glazing on the new mugs are a little too shiny for my tastes. I'm going to try some matte combos for the next round. The second photo is a large platter that came out much better than I was expecting. (And that's an unusual turn of events!) Last shot includes a cake stand and some soap dishes with a shell motif, along with fabric/quilt art from my sister. Her portrait piece is cool!

I just love the platter, the glazing is spectacular, - if you don't mind my asking, did you spatter the glaze on to get that effect?. I also like the mugs in the back on the right with the floating dots. Your sister is very talented too.
The work looks great - yours & your sisters!
I agree some recipes allow for more matteness (is that a word?) Do you have a controller on your kiln so you can slow cool? I'll share my ramp schedule if you want.
Hi Linda! Regarding the glazing: Yep, just splattered across there like Jackson Pollock. (Well, I should say TRYING to be like Jackson Pollock!)
Hi Judy! Thanks so much for the ramp schedule! It's posted on my to-do board in the studio. I really appreciate it!
Thanks, just like Jackson Pollock, but your canvas is slightly smaller.
OH those mugs are tres sexy....
My compliments on the glaze on the platter, really nice effect. I love big platters, especially in stoneware. So much fun to use when entertaining.
