It's great to sell a piece -- but even better when it's going to be used by a family friend who is also an awesome artist. Rose does pastel paintings and ceramic functional work, in addition to being a therapist specializing in using art in her practice.
Thanks Rose and Donnell!
The noodle bowl form, pictured at left, was one I "borrowed" after seeing it in Clay Times (I think)... It was a winning idea in a competition the magazine presented for new functional ware. Great idea so I played with variations of it. I no longer have the artist's name or source.

I too made some noodle bowls and they look super cool but I found when they were actually filled with noodles with a hot broth were way too hot to hold. I love the concept though. I really like your black deco on the white.
Hi Deborah! Glad to see you're still touching base with the blogging gang. I've been thinking about you and hoping you'll stick around!
I didn't try filling with noodles, but I did fill one of my first bowls with water and nuke the hell out of it to see how hot it got. It was fine at the handle. Before I make more of these, I'll do the whole noodle route and make sure.
How nice to have friends visit your studio. I like how the handle flows from the bowl.
dig it..
very cool! every college student should have one for their ramen noodles!!
love the black & white... beautiful!
I used my beautiful Noodle Bowl from your studio tonight and it was awesome!
The handle stayed cool, my noodles stayed hot and I enjoyed drinking the soup right out of the cup. It was the perfect size, shape and weight.
I will be getting more next time we are in Cambria!
