I've been working on a new style of mugs. They're formed on the wheel and then stamped/altered. I love the variety within the series as I can approach each piece with some new little element. (Keeps me excited! Yes, I know, I'm pretty easily thrilled.)
It's been interesting to see how the form and details have become more refined as I've gone from the first one to the 30th... Perhaps I'll try for 100 mugs like the series documented in another pottery blog... Check out the "100-Mugs in 100 Days" challenge at Fine Mess Pottery,
And then there's this busy potter who started off the year with another "One-Hundred Mug Challenge"! I've only got 70 more to go... My challenge is staying on course and doing 100 SIMILAR mugs. The "new" always hooks me and I'm off and running on a new tangent.
Anybody else doing the "100 mugs in 100 days" scenario?

I like these new mugs. I am also seeing the benefit of making the same form over and over again. I half have myself convinced this exercise would be good for me to do too.
The new mugs really look great! I love the texture on them. It is amazing how it gets easier to make bunches of things in a row. I am a big believer in muscle memory.
I am doing the 100 blog posts in one day challenge instead ;^)
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE YOUR MUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE.
We should do a wee little friendly mug swap sometime--I could choose a nice piggy mug and ship to you and you could choose...?
Gary - That's a deal! A great deal for me! Let me finish these up and, if all goes well, I'll select a primo one for you!
Patricia your mugs are fabulous. I love the texture - the variety of textures - the handles - the size. 100 doesn't seem like a lot when you decide 'oh I can do that.'
Making 100 of one form really helps you make that form yours. Good for you for working through it.
good-lookin mugs..i like the 100 mugs in 100days...
Liking the new mugs! I'm not doing the "100 mug challenge", but instead was working on batch of 60 of my mini sculptures. Though I think you just inspired me to up it to 100! Thanks!
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!
Very nice mugs! I think some variety is nice. Emily Murphy makes a point to make different mugs because everyone has different tastes.
I did my own challenge of 100, but it was a little different. I wanted to throw 100 cups in one day. I did it on a Friday and it took me the whole following week to finish them, and only 1/3 of them had handles. I enjoyed the challenge anyway. I think the 100 mugs in 100 days is a great way to try a different style for each one.
